San Francisco Neo-Futurists' Best of 2022 Marketing

The San Francisco Neo-Futurists are a critically-acclaimed theatre ensemble best known for their flagship production of The Infinite Wrench (there are companies in Chicago and New York as well). The show is an ongoing, ever-changing attempt to perform 30 short plays in twice as many minutes, and the short theatrical works span from observational comedy, to bizarre choreopoems, to sharing moments of serious catharsis. 

At the close of each year (pandemics notwithstanding), the ensemble collects the top 30 of the 300+ plays produced each year and put together a list of the Best Of the year featuring all of the ensemble members (a typical weekend only features 5 or 6 of the 13 total ensemble members). 

This special end-of-year blowout is one of the highest-profile marketing pushes the ensemble engages in. As a member, I coordinated the Best Of 2022 producation. While our ultimate marketing efforts went in a different direction, I created the assets below, making use of the talented Kayleigh Shawn's photography, to hype the event.

My intention was to capture the varied aspects of our production, the different identities making up the vibrant quilt of the ensemble presented in various hues, situations, and expressions. I felt a resonance between the ensemble's passion for collecting and presenting wildly different theatrical experiences with the brutalist design ethos that was also enjoying a bit of a trendy moment towards the end of 2022.

I felt happy with my growth here-- I feel I successfully captured the style and presentation I sought out to create and helped expand my bag of tricks in the process.
